  • Tue, 15:48: Just installed Kubuntu 10.10 in my laptop. Plasma looks good so far 🙂
  • Tue, 15:54: KDE now reminds of the vista start menu 😉
  • Tue, 15:55: Compared to the last release of Kubuntu, I see better UI response. 🙂
  • Tue, 16:43: This is really wierd. I tried Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSolaris and Kubuntu. In all of them, I am unable to enable/use wifi/wireless
  • Tue, 16:45: I could solve that in Ubuntu by the sudo rfkill unblock wifi. But in the rest, this simply doesn’t work.
  • Tue, 16:46: For some reason, the external button to enable wireless doesn’t work and the option to enable it thru network manager is inactive.
  • Tue, 16:47: So, for now I am going back to Ubuntu, where I can get the wireless to work
  • Tue, 17:18: I just tried sudo rfkill unblock wifi 5 times in a row and it worked !!! Now even my external wireless enable/disable button is working.

  • Wed, 10:53: Nope. Googling didn’t help either. Finally installed vlc and everything works fine 🙂  http://j.mp/atOblo
