Its been a couple of weeks since I moved from Ubuntu to Fedora in my laptop. The reason to do that was just that in Ubuntu, its impossible to install Oracle Database 11g2 and I found a page which explains how to install in the Fedora.
Couple of changes I’m seeing include the one fact that Fedora is much more stable compared to Ubuntu. Why I say this is because, Ubuntu used to crash when I multi-task with it. Fedora is able to handle my multi-tasking very well.
The thing I liked about Ubuntu is how easily I could install all plugins and everything I needed by using the apt-get. Fedora has a similar tool called yum. But the problem is that unlike ubuntu, fedora’s yum doesn’t come with the preset repositories. Fedora says that they won’t include anything thats not opensource and its up to the user to include any third party repository if needed. So, this link became very useful :

Special thanks to Ranjith for posting that useful info there.
